We ate dinner here after an afternoon show. Bookings are recommended. We made use of the two course, side, and glass of wine for $70 per person. I ordered the sautéed Mooloolaba king prawns for entree. The prawns were balanced beautifully by the tomato coulis and fennel. For my main course, I ordered the kingfish and a side of hand cut chips with garlic aioli. The accompanying spiced cauliflower, rice and lentil pilaf was sensational. This meal just made me want to come back for more, such was the care taken in all aspects of preparation and plating. Our table service was exemplary. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Our table also provided a good view of the clean and well...

The restaurant that can't quite make up its mind. I've been going to the Lyrebird on and off for the past twenty years or so and my parents used to go there regularly from the time it first opened. It used to be an up-market a-la-carte restaurant where you could get a very nice meal, excellent service and a nice atmosphere. It certainly wasn't cheap, but it was worth it. It was always open when there was a show or concert on and you had to book well in advance to get a table. It changed about 10 years ago. Opening times became erratic... they were open for post-show supper, then they weren't. They were open for Sunday lunch, then they weren't. They opened for dinner, then they didn't. It...r...
we have booked to have dinner before we saw kinky boots and both chose the 2 cursors next to wine for $70 we were with beautiful chalk brot and butter at the arrival and 2 glasses blow according to request. I asked the main thing of the bark tongsloin and dessert of chocolate larlease, in which I advised that it would not be in the position when 3 seperate meal times would not arrive on time on the table. (this confused me, because it didn't make sense when I wanted one to go ahead and dessert, and my homemate wanted to escape and dessert, which I unfortunately first dessert, so I decided to garnish for the charred. divine! perfectly boiled, the koulis was delicious full of tomato and basil....
We had dinner here tonight after an early show and couldn't fault either the service or the food. We chose the 2 course, side and wine for $70 which was incredibly good value. The hardest part was ordering as there were 3 entrees and 2 mains that I really wanted to try. In the end I settled on the simple half dozen oysters followed by risotto. The oysters came with a dipping sauce which was too overpowering but this didn't bother me as I just wanted lemon squeezed over them. The risotto looked like a work of art and tasted delicious. The vegetables were unnecessarily covered in sour cream but were otherwise delicious. Service was fantastic! Book a table now

Excellent service. For my birthday, wife took me to dinner at Lyrebird, and play at QPAC after. Arrived at 6 pm, immediately seated and drinks provided. Menu and wine list has good variety. Enjoyed chef special, steak and crab. Cooked to perfection. Food was served promptly allowing us time to enjoy dinner, drinks and desert, and make it to play without rushing. Highlight was excellent service. Lauren and Aly made us feel welcome, and regularly checked in with us. Aly provided finger bowl without us asking. Happy to recommend. Five stars
Dined here 14/5 prior to seeing La Traviata. Great food and courteous service. Waitress confirmed that we were seeing a show at 7:30 and we had plenty of time to enjoy drinks and all 3 courses without ever feeling time pressured. Food was presented and cooked beautifully. Highly recommend the salmon. All in all a great experience .
Excellent food - one of the best steaks I have had in a while - service was great. Food is better than the cafe style decor suggests. I would recommend if you are going to lyric theatre Book a table now

"The pasta at this restaurant is fantastic, the service is good, but the prices are a bit on the higher side. The gnocchi was particularly delicious, but there are other more satisfying options available for the same price."

"The food was tasty. But everyone at our table immediately felt very ill. Almost instantly. The salmon was also a little to raw. The meat was quite a fatty cut"
