On the other hand, the Corn Bread was exceptional - moist, slightly sweet, and full of fresh corn and butter. No additional condiments were needed, as it was perfect on its own. This was a standout dish that I would go out of my way for. The Deviled Eggs were creamy and tasty, while the Kale Greens were fresh and well-prepared.
The service at Macona was prompt, attentive, and friendly. In conclusion, the food was very good overall, with the standout dish being the world-class corn bread. I would definitely recommend giving Macona a try.
Great brisket sandwich, mysteriously terrible counter service. Guy took 10 minutes to come out from behind the curtain and help me, tho he knew I was there and the store was otherwise empty. I peeked back there and he was just sort of… doing other things. Then disappeared and took another 20 minutes to assemble a sandwich that had 2 things on it (meat, slaw). The sandwich tasted great (so, 4 stars because folks should know there’s good food here). Not sure if I’ll go back.
As for the cheese steak sandwiches, they were flavorful but overly salty, making it difficult for me to finish my meal. I couldn't tell if this was intentional in their cooking or if it was a mistake with the seasoning. I also tried the picante coleslaw, which had received positive reviews, but I found it to be just okay. Despite the hype and attractive images, the sandwiches did not impress me as much as the renowned Philly cheese steaks.
I placed an order at this restaurant and never received it. After waiting for 2 hours, I still had not received my food. Eventually, I was informed that someone else had mistakenly picked up my order, so I ended up paying for someone else's meal. The restaurant showed no concern for the mix-up. This was the worst experience I have ever had.

I had an amazing brisket sandwich at this restaurant, and I especially enjoyed the white sauce. The prices for such high-quality BBQ were very reasonable. The brisket was juicy and flavorful, with just the right amount of smoke and fat. I also tried the furikake mac and cheese and greens, both of which were delicious.

I really enjoyed the BBQ sliced beef with sides at this small, cozy local restaurant. It's a great spot to grab a quick bite to eat.
Unfortunately, Macona BBQ is no longer in operation. The owners have moved on to other jobs.
