This is the latest iteration of the house restaurant in the Hotel Chester and it would be nice to see this one take. However, competition in the Starkville market continues to increase and this restaurant still needs some work to find it’s footing. Entry is still through the front door and lobby off N. Jackson (not Main St. . The dining room is a nice open space with an elevated stage to one side and a lot of hard surfaces that tend to reflect sound making conversation a challenge in a crowd. Our party of ten tried several appetizers, including fried green tomatoes (the acknowledged favorite , Reuben rangoons, pita wedges with black-eyed pea hummus, and Szechuan cauliflower bits.
