Fuenterrabia is famous for its tapas bars, and I enjoy the experience everytime I come here...but there are only so much fried calamari, croquetas and tortilla that one can eat in a day, so I was glad to find this little restaurant nested in a newly opened boutique-hotel, 5 min away from the tapas circle. We had diner in the yard, not many tables so feels very intimate. Menu started with a plate of spanish ham and some canapés, then went on to squid in its ink, cooked to perfection. Or a sirloin that was very tasty. the wine list is impressive (many bordeaux but also great spanish wines) and good value for money. Based on the reviews we decided, while we stayed at the hotel, to eat in. There is an a la carte or 2 different menus to chose from. The menus cost 30 euros each and exclude drinks. We both opted for the Henriette and, to be honest, I was disappointed in both quality and quantity. The soup was very watered down, with a few pieces of rucula. Yes, on the front there are young people who are enthusiastically prepared who offer the best of themselves working with quality products. we are in a establishment with capacity for more than the comensales, which guarantees personalized treatment in the room. the product that is oa is extraordinary.ordinary. it is combined with the numerous wines, including the French, which have in the winery. alcachofa, asparagus, merluza (usually fished), anchovies, mother-mass bread. all next to home. they just introduced a cocktail menu that will surely give a lot of games on the terrace when the good time comes.
This little gem of a restaurant is tucked adjacent to beautiful Villa Magalean. It is has a nice restaurant and an outdoor terrace. The food is modern twist but has excellent quality produce. The service of the staff was terrific and overall we had a most enjoyable dinner. The menu options are not huge but there is a good choice and if staying at the hotel it seems there are packages available. This town has lots of Pinchos and Tapas but this is a hidden gem of a restaurant and we will certainly return
