I know, the restaurant business is not that easy people, including myself are picky. We like our eggs fresh and our bacon crisp, but not reconstituted from an early breakfast rush (that 's too crisp I 'm afraid : . We like really good, freshly roasted and ground coffee. We drove quite a distance to have breakfast at the Main Street Café and unfortunately we were very disappointed. The quality was poor but the major problem was burnt and dried sausages. I requested sausage replacements and said that they should never have been served in the first place! The terse response was that a lot of customers like burnt sausages, which I replied, when ordering ask the customer whether they want them burnt or not! The poached eggs were broken, potatoes a bit soggy and the eggs over easy were over cooked. This was early in the morning and the café was not full. We will not bother frequenting the Café again. The owner served us, makes this that much worse. We ordered food that was overpriced to begin with, fine! He offers us onions, I asked for a tomato slice instead of the included bun due to allergies. We got to the till with a bill showing charges for onions and tomatoes. No idea that he was up charging us. $40 for two to eat breakfast with no drinks, dessert or anything. The restaurant was cold probably at 15°C, not comfortable. There were restaurants supplies stored all over the place and in booths- not a nice environment. Food? unremarkable. Won’t go again.
I’m so excited that we can actually sit in the restaurant and enjoy the yummy breakfasts once again. I love it here: good food, friendly staff and good service. Thank goodness they survived the pandemic!
