"This was a great spot to grab some specialty food for a park picnic. The owners were friendly and very helpful. She offered me to try some of the items I wasn’t familiar with. The speck (cured beef) was delish and so were the savory pastries."

Yes the service is excellent. The quality is high although not uniformly higher than many other places. Not all prices are marked. I ususally ask the price in that case but was in a hurry and had the flu so did not. Stupid me. I ordered a portion of girlolle mushrooms for one person, a slice of pheasant pate and a single stuffed courgette and the bill was 54 euros which is $63 at current rates. I would not call this pricey I would call it extortionate. It is not cute nor folksy. Yes fools and their money are soon parted. I cannot believe that on this far from my first visit to Paris I was so gullible. I could blame it on the flu; but maybe the management of Maison Guyard is more responsible....

I found it just walking around. The shopping experience is undoubtely great, but when presented the bill (which is retained by them afterwards BTW something common in Paris, do not ask me why) you get a bit of a kick!. So do not enter if you not intend to spend around 50 euros. But if you are well off, I honestly recommend the experience. Most of the products do not display the price (Foie at 125 euros/kg I remember when the bill was flashed to me), others once they are sliced for you they are not returnable, and the scale is smartly conceived behind the counter and some goodies. Also, afterwards, you have the feeling that you are not buying, but you are being sold!. So I recommend to ask th...

As mentioned by other reviewers, this is the Parisian equivalent of a deli. I go at least twice a week for take away hot lunch they have tons of good homemade food, sandwiches, salads, quiches et al. But also cheeses, cold cuts, pâté, fresh pasta etc. Service is typically French (charming but slightly caustic) and prices are fairly reasonable for the neighborhood (9 € for a hot lunch, no desert)

It has become quite difficult to find a good Charcuterie, even in Paris' wealthy districts. At Maison Guyard, everything is delicious, especially the Goose Rillettes and the Black Pudding which make me hungry just to think about it. The owners know what they are doing. Well done them!
