If it wasn't for the sales pitch......... 5 stars for the jazz in the basement perfect over wine. 5 stars for getting some good sides with your dinner. 0 stars for the sales pitch from the waiter not to order the chicken or the cheaper meals on the menu. And honestly the strip steak and prime rib by husband was just ok. I've had just as good steaks at longhorn. If I went back I'd order what I'd want vs. being convinced to order most expensive items on the menu by the waiter.
The Majestic is a Kansas City staple. The service was great but the food was lacking flavor. I ordered the ribeye with green beans. The decor could also use a slight update but the food is really what brings people back. It was okay for me.
Disappointed. At the entrance, strong smell of old cigar smoke. Very offensive. Steak was not great. The much heralded carrots were dry. Unfortunately won 't be back. It is not the 'old ' Majestic.

The atmosphere reminded me of what a speakeasy might have been. The service was wonderful and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend
