I recently discovered Malocca's, a long-standing takeout restaurant. My first visit was spontaneous when I found myself nearby during dinner time. The line was short, and I ordered cod and chips for £7.50, which I thought was a bit pricey compared to London's standards. The staff didn't interact much with customers, and the cod was thinner than I had hoped. The batter held up well on the journey home, and the chips were tasty. However, I prefer the quality and size of the cod at Harry Ramsden's in Manchester. I don't plan on returning to Malocca's, as I'd rather visit Pit Stop in Kilkeel for a better value sit-down meal.

Some elements were very good. The potato chips were great. The greasy, fluffy type of fish and chips were delicious. The black sauce was the lovely "chippy" sauce. But, unforgivably, the Southern fried chicken was burnt. Like really black and burnt. Tough, dark, unchewable, awful. It was a disaster. I couldn't even separate the meat from the bone with my hands for the dog. Malocca should be ashamed of serving that trash, smiling, knowing how a customer feels when they discover it at home. Such a shame! For that reason, I will never darken their door again. Simply despicable.

The meal had some highlights, like the tasty chippy chips and flavorful black gravy. However, the southern fried chicken was overcooked to the point of being inedible. It was so terrible that I had to throw it away, as I couldn't even salvage the meat for my dog. Malocca should feel ashamed for serving such low-quality food. I won't be coming back to this restaurant after this disappointing experience. It was completely unacceptable.

Whilst driving down the M1 I though why not stop off the motorway at newry south junction to try a pizza that I had heard about. Best decision I've made in a while. The pizza was delicious. The staff where very friendly. And being from Italian extraction, they are very passionate about their good. A must try.
