Update 8.20.22: One of the managers from Malones called me after reading my two-star review. He was courteous and apologized for our recent visit (read below . I wanted to update my review with FIVE stars. An establishment that cares for their customers deserves a pass now and then. We will be back. Just visiting Lexington for the weekend and wanted to treat myself to a steak diner that was local and not a big chain restaraunt that I can get back in Michigan. Malones did not disappoint. I went on Sunday for diner after the races were done at the Red Mile and it sounds like reservations is reccomended but I was able to get a spot at the bar, which is fine with me. I ordered the Basic from the signature drink menu which was so delicious that I had a second one. For the meal I ordered the Rockefeller Au Graten Twin Filets (the green stuff on top is spinach w/ a cheese sauce) with the Lobster Mac n Cheese that came with the endless salad and loaf of bread. This dinning experience was one of the greatest we've had in a long time! We came to celebrate our Anniversary with my mom and our daughter while traveling from Florida. We were graced by the spectacular service of Allison, Dylan, and had the amazing pleasure of meeting Landry to make sure our steaks were all cooked to absolute perfection. The atmosphere, cleanliness, service, and food were all 5 stars. It's not a cheap experience, but my oh my is it worth every penny!! This place is fantastic! There are plenty of parking spots available. We didn't have a reservation, but they seated us quickly with only a short wait. The staff is friendly, timely, and provides excellent service. The food is truly delicious. It was our first visit to Malone's, and it's already become a new favorite. I had a tough time choosing from the menu because everything sounded and looked amazing. I was definitely not disappointed. One of our favorite restaurants in Lexington! The atmosphere is lovely and not crowded. The complimentary bread and butter is fantastic. Each meal also includes a signature Lexingtonian salad. I ordered the Twin Filets with Henry Bain sauce and crispy potatoes, while my husband had chicken tenders with mac and cheese and a baked potato. We were both very satisfied with our meals. My husband even said they have the best honey mustard ever!
As always, it was a fantastic experience. The service and food were excellent. I ordered the jerk pork chop special, which I switched from sweet mashed potatoes to regular mash. The pork chop was cooked to perfection, and the flavor was delightful. My husband had the Kobe burger with fries. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, and the fries were fresh and hot. It was a lovely lunch overall.
A staple of Lexington and a great restaurant. They are an upper scale steak house with Kentucky focused names for dishes. (Especially UK! If not a fan of UK don't let that distract or deter you- food is great! Steaks are flavorful and tender with a perfect char. Lexingtonian salad is delicious with a perfect mix of flavors. One of the best places in Lexington to eat, especially if you’re looking for a great steak. They have an awesome selection of appetizers including sushi they will customize, and will tempura fry any roll upon request. My 8oz fillet was cooked as usual for perfection. I found a small piece of bowl in the lobster Mac n cheese, otherwise it was excellent.
