I ordered the Shrimp and Broccoli lunch special, and it was good overall. However, who thought it was a good idea to put frozen vegetables in fried rice? That definitely needs to stop in kitchens! With the way restaurants and takeout options are these days, you might as well just cook for yourself. The price was reasonable, and I appreciated the extra egg roll, which surprisingly had three shrimp inside, so that was a nice bonus. The ladies working there were very friendly, too.
I usually only order two items from this restaurant: the shrimp egg roll and the General Tso TVP. There aren't many places in the DC area that offer TVP for those of us who enjoy vegan meals from time to time, but this spot does it exceptionally well! The flavor is great, and the lunch combo is a fantastic value. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a delicious plant-based cheat meal! The shrimp egg roll is also incredibly tasty and full of flavor.
The portion sizes for the Curry Shrimp lunch special, Szechuan Beef lunch special, and Hot and Sour Soup were all satisfying. I really appreciated the vegetables in both the shrimp and beef dishes; the zucchini, carrots, onions, fresh mushrooms, and pea pods were delightful. The crunchy noodles that accompanied the hot and sour soup were a nice touch. However, I felt that the food could have used more seasoning, as it was a bit bland for my taste.
Absolutely not. I have never tasted such bland food. This dish (in the photo) tastes like NOTHING. I also ordered 3 piece chicken fries with mambo sauce. Mediocre. The steak and cheese egg rolls and the shrimp egg rolls I?ve tasted much much better. I was so excited then immediately disappointed. It?s been years since I?ve had this type of food since I no longer reside in the dmv. Book a table now
Large portions but average quality. I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein and Kung Pao Chicken for $16. PROS: Generous servings perfect for sharing, fresh vegetables. CONS: Not authentic, chicken meat is low quality. I enjoyed the Lo Mein, but the Kung Pao Chicken was lacking—no vinegar or Szechuan pepper, and I've never seen chicken pop used in this dish before.
I recently moved from Philadelphia and had a hard time finding a good Chinese restaurant. Mandarin is not only acceptable, but it’s one of the best Chinese places I’ve ever been to. I’ve only tried the General Tso’s chicken and the chicken and broccoli, and both were delicious. However, their fried chicken is absolutely amazing!
Consistently good, delivered hot and fresh food! I love the veggies that are included with the hunan shrimp and the shrimp egg rolls are delicious! Yummy crab rangoon as well!
Everything was delicious as always! I order from this place religiously! I just wish they could change up the sodas they send. They always send Pepsi. Otherwise, fantastic! Book a table now
