We ordered chicken corn soup, chicken pakora, fried rice, orange chicken, sesame chicken, and crispy beef. 1) Chicken corn soup – I’d rate it a 2. There were barely any chicken pieces, the soup was yellowish with some oily residue. It was too watery for my liking and didn’t pair well with soy sauce or other condiments. 2) Chicken pakora – I’d also rate this a 2. The coating lacked any spice or masala and was quite dry. The cabbage salad that came with it was bland and unappealing. 3) Orange chicken vs. sesame chicken – The only difference was the sesame seeds sprinkled on the sesame chicken. Both were $16 but had fewer than 10 pieces of chicken each. I’d give this a 3. 4) Crispy beef...

I visited Mandarin several times in 2018 and found the food consistently good. However, on a recent visit hoping for a decent lunch, I was disappointed. The beef lo mein tasted microwaved and was inedible, and the fried rice was bland and below average. The Mongolian beef was passable, but overall, the experience was underwhelming. While there was mention of a lack of wall-mounted paper, I doubt there’s a shortage of food in any halal restaurants. I’m rating this review 3 stars based on my 2018 visits, but my current experience deserves just 1 star.

The menu is extensive, and we opted for the wings, which were recommended by our server, along with chicken lo mein. The wings were quite tasty but lacked spiciness. Unfortunately, the chicken lo mein was a bit of a letdown and didn't taste very fresh. On a positive note, the mango lassi was excellent; we enjoyed one there and got another to take home.

There are several Halal Chinese restaurants nearby, but Mandarin stands out for its flavor and service. It offers ample parking and a spacious environment. We've been regulars for years, and the quality and freshness have consistently met our expectations. Book a table now

Mandarin is an excellent Halal Indo-Chinese restaurant, conveniently situated near I-95 and close to Backlick Road. The restaurant is quite spacious and offers a solid selection of dishes.

They make you pay 20% for horrible serviceThe waiter gave us room temperature water with no ice, it tasted like it had been sitting out for a while.
