Heard a lot of people on the local Rayleigh FB community page saying this was a nice Indian so thought we’d drive over (Myself, partner and baby daughter aged 20mths) as we love Indian food and eat it regularly The restaurant is clean and tidy and our order was taken quickly. Popadoms were nice with the chutneys and salad which aren’t complimentary and total for them was £6. We had 2 soft drinks, 3 starters which were nice too but it was the mains that were pretty poor. I always order Chicken tikka vindaloo with vegetable rice and would say I know a decent one when I get it. This just wasn’t up to scratch! Yet again the experience at Mango Lounge was exactly what we have come to expect. Excellent from the moment we walked in for our precooked 6pm appointment. The greeting was Hello Mr Roy from the staff, always good to be remembered from previous visits. We were seated without fuss and our drinks order taken. We ordered Popadoms and read through the menu which had some new offerings, while eating these. The starters were brought up piping hot and the chicken we had both ordered was so tender and tasty. Really good food. Being in Rayleigh for business this week a group of us had a meal in the Mango Lounge after work. My go to Indian meal is Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi with mushroom rice. Honestly, I've been eating it for decades. I can honestly say, the Jalfrezi at the Mango Lounge was one of the best I've had. So good in fact, I had it again when we returned for another meal later in the week! The service was fine, nothing bad to report there, just lacked a bit of charisma if I'm being overly critical. After all, everyone loves an entertaining waiter and sadly the Mango Lounge is short in that department. But if all you care about is efficient service and great food, I can highly recommend them...
I now always go here for my Indian takeaways. Food always excellent, staff very friendly. The ironic thing is that I always used to go to the Asiana, also in Rayleigh, which is also excellent, but I had so much trouble getting through to them phone kept getting redirected to a mobile, which then wasn't answered anyway. So I had to find somewhere else and I found Mango Lounge. Never go anywhere else now. Although I only ever get takeaways here, I must say that the restaurant itself is very inviting and attractively laid out and, not surprisingly, busy. Unfortunately I'm the only one in my family who likes Indian food so I just have to content myself with takeaway.

Turned up for our 8.30pm dinner but we were told the restaurant was running late so we didn’t get seated til 8.45pm! Very busy and loud when we went. Lots of Christmas parties! Food once it arrived was delicious and flavoursome. I feel as thought the restaurant should have hired more staff for the busy Xmas period. But overall a nice experience and I’m sure on a weekday it’s not like this!
I heard great reviews about Mango Lounge so wanted to check it out for ourselves…Wasn’t disappointed in the slightest, everything seemed to be excellent from the service to the tasty Chicken Bhuna to the excellent Gavi wine. Really impressed and will definitely be back.
This was my second visit here , This time It was on a Thursday night which was still busy but not chaotic Great meal and good service , We will defiantly return on a weekday
Food was very good, such a shame couldn’t say the same for the service. Very slow to take our order and staff appeared very rude and abrupt, not welcoming at all

We found the staff very rude. We believe they don’t have to be polite as they put service charge on bill. Will not be going back.
Great atmosphere, pleasant staff and mouth-watering food! The best indian in Essex if not the country!
