The sign on the corner of the street wasn’t very obvious. Terrazza panoramica or something like that and a menu del dia for around €15. We walked into the place and it looked very small. I asked for the terrace with a view and we were led two flights up, past the kitchen and onto the partially covered roof terrace with a great view over the rooftops to the sea, magnificent! The young man took our order for the daily menu, which consisted of a nice green salad with pepitas, walnuts, honey and a slice of goat’s cheese (yummy! and croquettes (one with sepia and one with mushrooms per person . I absolutely adore Mar Co. I have been here a few times and loved it. The Tasting Menu was fantastic. The food is beautifully plated with incredible flavors. Each dish kept getting better and better. It has a great location right off of the main plaza in the Old Town. This hidden gem has a wonderful, quaint and precious terrace with views of the sea and Altea. Ana, the owner and chef, is wonderful and so friendly, as well as all the waiters and waitresses. They also make a great mojito!
We are seasoned visitors to Altea but unfortunately had never happened upon this superb tapas restaurant before. Just off the square in the old town we were greeted with such enthusiasm by the wonderful chap outside and that was followed by every single person working here. They were hugely accommodating in our choice of table, the food was superb, the view is gorgeous from the roof terrace, with so many places to choose from these guys really deserve to do well.
Had the most amazing lunch here today. Location was amazing, just off the busy square, with a delightful rooftop terrace, with views across the marina and sea. We had the Menu del Dia, and had four courses for €15 each, all beautifully cooked and prepared. Service was excellent, and hosts were incredibly friendly. Would definitely recommend this place.

lugar muy recomendado, si cobran 4 euros por terraza sería antes, para 16-18 euros comer menú con bebida (la bebida no entra en el menú), las vistas son muy agradables y la comida es muy buena. el camarero está atento y conoce los platos muy bien. un buen restaurante Volveré sin duda si vuelvo a almorzar.
Entramos por casualidad. Pedimos una paella valenciana, toma un poco pero vale la pena. comida fresca y buen gusto. la terraza es pequeña pero tiene bonitas vistas. excelente atención. Precio normal el menú no es muy variado pero la comida es buena en general. Lo recomiendo.
Fantastic Paella and a very, very service oriented staff. Kind and friendly. Both adults and kids very pleased. The restaurant is situated 15 metres from the church plaza in Altea and we sat outside with a fantastic view over the sea.
Hemos comido maravillosamente a un precio muy aceptable. el personal muy atento y agradable. las instalaciones más correctas. destacar la terraza con vistas al mar ideal para comer en un día soleado.
