I had the pleasure of discovering this restaurant a few months ago. My brother and friends had mentioned they were treating me to a birthday meal, so I decided to try Mare since I was new to the area. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost full (which is always a good sign), but we were seated quickly and given menus. Recently redecorated. Looks fresher and brighter than it did. Andrew, the chef, has, as usual, pulled out all the stops on his food and his cheese and onion pie is magnificent. The PROPER chips are worth a visit on their own. None of that frozen...**** that you get everywhere else. My mate had a rump steak which looked really good and it must have been as she wouldn't let me have any! Puds were lovely too. I had the sticky toffee pudding which was a really big helping and I couldn't finish it! Well worth a visit any day of the week but his Sunday dinners are to die for!
I just got home after enjoying a delicious steamed bun that was cooked perfectly. I devoured every last bite on my plate because it was just too good to leave anything behind. Thank you, Andy, for another fantastic meal as always. I can't find any faults with the food, service, or atmosphere. If you haven't been here yet, you're seriously missing out!
Just discovered this little gem. Went and had Sundday lunch last week and let me tell you.....it was all fresh home cooked and tasty. Enjoyed it so much went again today. Cajun chicken burger.....**** amazing. This is my new go to for food now. Would...highly recommend it. You wont be disappointed Thank you

The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. They have an excellent selection of beers. We...we definitely be back soon.
I have visited this place several times. twice on Sunday and with the week. the food is served piping hot and has good portion sizes the meals are also very tasty. I live in West-Yorkshire and travels down to see friends so that we always have lunch. I would definitely recommend this place
I frequently visit this amazing restaurant where the food is always freshly cooked and served in generous portions. The staff is extremely friendly, and the meals are affordable. Additionally, they offer a takeaway service for Sunday dinner. This is my favorite dining spot.
