Margie's Bar and Grill, originally established by the reviewer's grandmother, was later sold to a couple who then passed it on to their son. The son still owns the restaurant today. Despite never having visited before, the reviewer believes that waiting 49 years was worth it. The current owners are friendly and create a welcoming family atmosphere. The reviewer tried the Suicide Burger and was impressed, taking half of it home. They believe that eating at Margie's should be a tradition for those attending school in aggieland. Overall, the reviewer feels that their grandmother, Margie, would be proud of how the restaurant has continued to thrive.
My great-grandmother was an Opersteny, and both of my grandparents worked at this restaurant when it was owned by the Opersteny family. I grew up eating the best hamburgers in my grandmother's kitchen, and I always knew she learned to cook like that at the Opersteny restaurant. Recently, I discovered that this place still serves the original Opersteny hamburger, so my mom, aunt, and I had to try it. We loved it! The staff was very welcoming, and the Opersteny burger did not disappoint us. We will definitely be back with more family soon.
The food is good, there is a great atmosphere, and the staff is very friendly, but it took an hour for our food to arrive. I dined here with a group of 11, and although it was a bit snug, the staff allowed us to combine two tables. They mixed up my friend's and my burger orders, but made sure we had the right sides. The onion rings are delicious.
Amazing, delicious, and authentic local food what a treasure Bryan has, in this family owned restaurant. The beef is fresh, and the flavor of the dish was terrific. My friend enjoyed one of Margie's burgers, and I enjoyed Nacho's homemade and delicious !
