The baked shells are an absolute MUST-TRY! I’ve sampled them at various places, but these are truly the best! The tortellini soup was also incredibly tasty. I ordered the Pollo Picante, which was fantastic and came with a small side of pasta in red sauce. My family chose different pasta dishes—my mom had calamari, while my dad went for shrimp. The food was exceptional and packed with flavor, and the portions were so generous that I was able to take home an entire meal as leftovers.

The veal parmesan was exceptional, and the sauce was absolutely delightful. However, I found the portion of pasta that came with the $25 meal to be rather insufficient—worth maybe five cents at most. The chicken parmesan was underwhelming; while they claimed to bake it, true chicken parmesan should be thinly pounded, breaded, and fried using fresh chicken. Additionally, there’s a hidden 3% fee for credit card payments that they don't inform customers about beforehand—I only noticed it on my receipt. I offered feedback on these issues, but the staff didn’t seem very receptive, so I wouldn’t expect any changes in the future.
Marinella's is an outstanding family-owned Italian restaurant that feels authentic. The food is remarkable, the drinks and wine selection are excellent, and parking is easy. It's certainly one of the best dining locations in Glen Ellyn. We truly enjoy the ambiance, the delicious food, and the welcoming staff. I highly recommend it! Additionally, they have the finest patio for enjoying nice weather in the western suburbs.

I absolutely love dining at cozy, family-run restaurants where the owner takes a moment to have a chat with you. The homemade ravioli was delightful, and I was glad that the Pollo Marsala wasn't oversalted—it was incredibly tender. On a rainy evening, I also tried the chicken soup, which was very comforting. All in all, it was a wonderful dinner for two.
Marinella Italian is run by two of the most hardworking people I know. You won’t be disappointed. The food is fantastic, and the deck is perfect in the summer. Plus, here’s a bonus: it’s the only place in town with its own parking lot. When you go, be sure to tell Benny Jeff sent you. It can’t be beaten—trust me!
I enjoyed every aspect of this restaurant! Joanna and Sam provided outstanding service. The food was exceptional: the butternut squash ravioli with vodka sauce, chicken picante, veal parmesan, and homemade cannelloni were all amazing! The pumpkin pie was the perfect way to end a wonderful meal.
