I like this pub, the food is really nice, staff are really friendly and there are plenty of screens to watch the footy but the bouncer has a massive God complex. I will always give someone the benefit of the doubt, you never know what is going on in someone's life, so I was in two minds about whether to write this review but having visited this establishment many times recently, I can see that this is just the way he is. The guy is drunk with power, quite aggressive and walks around like he owns the place. Popped in for a quick drink before dinner on a Friday night. It was very very busy! Having said that, I was served quickly. Drinks were reasonable value. Despite the crowd, the venue was very clean. I did, just about, manage to get a seat. It was loud as there was live music, so if you want a quiet Friday night drink, think again! But on the whole atmosphere and service was great. I have read that they are Dog Friendly, but I would not suggest bringing your pups at 630 on a Friday as their paws are likely to be trod on. Would return!
I have visited Mariners several times before their recent renovation, and I must say, the upgrade has truly revitalized the place. It has become a fantastic venue that caters to everyone. The staff has always been top-notch and the new menu offers reasonable prices with high-quality execution. I have dined there for the past two days and highly recommend trying the chicken Kiev and the trio roast. If you want to guarantee a fantastic dining or drinking experience, I cannot recommend Mariners enough.
We went to leigh-on-sea for the Christmas market and then wandered into town. After going into the first pub , they didn’t serve food so thank goodness we went to the next one and boy so glad we did! Staff were so friendly, the burger and chips was insanely good and the bar was cosy and festive. Loads of room and all different groups of people in there. Highly recommend we could have stayed all day . Thank you!

We had a surprise family lunch reservation at the restaurant next door and decided to meet at Mariners beforehand. I'm thrilled we did because the staff at Mariners were fantastic. They were surprised but very accommodating when 30 of us showed up unexpectedly. They were eager to make us happy. Thank you to the team at Mariners, you made our day.
Not been in here for years as it was not the most appealing place, we walk past it all the time and pass it by, but now its turned a new leaf, a full refit, totally the opposite from what it was previously, spotless inside, decor is quality, food very good, service to match, so now we can visit regular as we are local. 5 out of 5.
Would definitely eat here again was in a hurry spoke to manager to see how long food would before ordering as daughter was in a show so needed to be back quickly, the manager was very good and sorted it that food would come fast,when arrived was lovely and hot and very tasty
We stopped by for lunch today, and it was our first visit to this restaurant. The recent refurbishment looks great, especially the chairs. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and will definitely return. The young woman behind the bar was extremely helpful and friendly.

A very unpleasant experience. It's like walking into a school dinner hall of 500 sreaming kids on Red Bull! Aggressive, loud, scary faced guys all with similar hairstyles and clothes all trying to look as intimidating as possible.
13 ppl for 2 birthdays cannot recommend high enough fantastic food great staff made to feel welcome well done to Kitchen staff would recommend at any time thanks all
