I've been a loyal customer of Market Basket in Wyckoff for 20 years, but that has come to an end. During my last three phone orders, they've consistently forgotten to prepare my meals. When I ordered a Chicken Pesto Panini, I ended up with a turkey panini instead. The Italian hero I specifically asked for with balsamic vinegar came with some mystery dressing that wasn't balsamic and certainly wasn't vinegar. And when I requested a Reuben with pastrami and extra Thousand Island dressing, they served me a corned beef sandwich with mustard instead. For most of my life, I would have given this restaurant five stars due to its friendly, family-owned atmosphere. However, it seems that they've become a bit too complacent with their success, and unfortunately, the quality of the food has suffered significantly. The prepared dishes, which used to be their standout items, are now disappointing. The pasta salad tastes bland, and the ends of the rigatoni are hard and yellow, indicating they might be old. The fillet no longer lives up to its previous standard, and everything has become more expensive. I wish I could still rate it five stars, but this place has really declined, and I doubt anyone would disagree with me.
