Having had a wonderful meal at this restaurant one evening I decided to go back again the next night. On both occasions I asked them to recommend meals and some local wine and on both occasions they did not disappoint. The meal was perfectly cooked and the wine was first class (but all modestly priced). Try some of the Sauvignon Blanc which is grown here in the region. I know it's very much a popular wine but this was especially fresh and light. If the weather is nice, the outdoor area at Markgrafler Winzerstuben is quite a wonderful setting for dinner. Fairly small and intimate with plants and one or two fountains, I do not remember. I do remember the authentic friendliness of the very elegant maitre D also acting as an efficient waitress, offering advice on the specials and attentive to bringing on drinks. (She did remind me a little of the actress Robin Wright, in appearance.) we have been coming to this cozy winzerstube for years at visit in the brand-gräflerland. so far has never disappointed us; favorit is the delicious beetle, but also all the other dishes we have tried were very delicious. there are also daily changing dishes, so that even with multiple-actors there is no long time. if you want to be sure to get a table, you should definitely book; so far it was still full every evening.In summer the limited space in the hof is very popular; here a reservation is absolutely necessary; even against 17.30 clock, people had to go back again, as all the places were occupied or reserved. the service is efficient, competent and fast, the prices reasonable.
We were seated and our order was taken by the hostess because the servers did not speak English. We were seated in the lovely courtyard/outdoor area. Lots of tables with lively groups of people enjoying their dinners. We ordered their Roast Beef special that night with a salad. The portion sizes were generous. The Roast Beef was thin slices of rare beef with horseradish sauce and fried potatoes. The beef was very tender and delicious but the potatoes stole the show. They were perfectly crisp on the outside, tender inside and well seasoned. Overall a wonderful dinner.

the greeting was very warm and as a single guest one was put to a table with other single guests. the order was very fast as well.The carved (two smaller carved) was well roasted, maybe still a little too fat. the bratkartoffeln tasted very good and well roasted - a little more spice would have done well. the served wein (blueburgunder) was typical of the region and fits very well to the food.
this local is recommended. we have eaten several times in this restaurant. the dishes are excellent and of good quality and service perfectly. the prices are correct and the terrace very pleasant. if you want to eat on the terrace, you need to remember to book as it is always full. I recommend this place.
Believe the other reviews, this is a great spot to go dining. The food is very rich, but I suppose that's authentically German. Even their veggie options were delicious, which is actually hard to come by in this pork-loving country!
We've eaten here the past two evenings. The food is savory and the atmosphere is traditional German. The staff is pleasant too. Good find!
