Pros: Not your typical ramen restaurant decor. Also came with good service. The edamame small dish served at the beginning was a nice touch. The flavor of the chashu was amazing. Their spicy soup base had the right kind of spicy. The eel role was probably the best one I had in the DMV area. However? Cons: Chashu was very fatty. Noddle was undercooked even when I asked them to cook longer for mine since I like my noddle to be on the softer end. I biggest issue was the soup
The waiter was so nice, friendly and helpful. Service was excellent. The food looked great, but it tasted OK. I ordered the Braised Short Rib Ramen and added Chashu (3 layer pork) and Shitake mushrooms. The shitake was delicious. It was tempura. The Chashu was good but needs more flavor/seasoning. The short ribs didn't have anything but it's natural meat flavor. The broth wasn't what I expected and the Ramen was OK. Maybe the Ramen is more of Japanese style? I love the
I've sampled pork buns at various ramen restaurants throughout the DMV area, and I can confidently say that these are the best! The ramen portions are generous, and I really appreciate the complimentary edamame appetizer. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, traditional ramen restaurant with rich broth and excellent toppings. (Many other ramen spots tend to be a bit trendier.)
The ramen was tasty, and they did an impressive job transforming an old Pizza Hut into a sleek, modern space. I had the spicy miso ramen with extra pork belly, and the pork belly was delicious. The waitress was very attentive—perhaps a bit too much—checking on us so frequently that we felt somewhat rushed, even though we still had an hour before closing. Book a table now
My favorite ramen restaurant in the DMV area! Among all the ramen places I've visited, Marumen stands out as the best. You simply must try the spicy miso—it's a definite must! Don't forget to order the seafood pancake and bao too. The quality and flavor of their dishes consistently keep me coming back for more. Plus, the service is excellent!
My first visit to Marumen came highly recommended by friends, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The menu offers an authentic experience that truly compares to the ramen I've enjoyed during my travels in Japan over the years.
Last night was the second time in the past month that we have eaten here, and it was awesome!!! Everything was so so flavorful! And our waiter was great as he took care of SEVEN of us. Definitely worth the drive from Woodbridge!
