"I love this place. This visit only reinforced my affection. The location is simply superb, literally on top of the beach with the Ria de Vigo only metres away and looking across the Ria to Vigo itself. The mussels, yesterday, a huge portion, were the best I have ever tasted anywhere. It is indeed the season but they were amazing. Four glasses of wine, a beer and a portion of mussels between three of us, 18€. All that and the best view. Can’t wait to go back."

This bar has been a must during our holidays in Galicia for the last 5 years. It is located in the outskirts of Moaña. Its main characteristic is a terrace build over the beach (supported by 2 pilars). When there is high tide, the sea is under your feet and you can see it and hear it while you eat it and you don 't get wet. Cool. The food is local gastronomy. This time we tasted the mejillones (boiled mussels) and calamares a la romana (fried squid). They were so fresh and tender in your month as butter. Of course, you can 't go away without eating the pulpo a feira (boiled octopus Galician style). We could not finish without dessert. Cheese cake (made on oven) and tarta de la abuela (biscui...

Honestly I don't understand the comments that appear here for the Marusia. We have been coming here now for the last ten years and for us it...

Really sad. This is still my favourite bar in Europe, location-wise. On my last visit in September, I thought it might be losing a bit of its lustre but gave it the benefit of the doubt. I am really sorry to say this has gone downhill very rapidly. This time I went in to use the loo before our drinks arrived and immediately cancelled my mental order of mussels, chipirones and the like. The interior/bar area was not just unacceptably untidy but really dirty with old stained cloths hanging around, dirty floor, unwashed glasses just sitting there, the list goes on. The current owners/tenants have a potential gold mine there and they are ignoring it. When the wine did eventually come it wasn’t e...

This has always been my favourite bar/restaurant in the world! The setting is superb. Right over the beach and overlooking the Ria de Pontevedra towards Vigo on the opposite side. Went back there last week and found it had changed owners. Delightful new people. They have done it up inside. Not so that it is swish or naff but still an interior in which locals will feel comfortable in winter. The food they serve is informal and marvellous. Fresh shell fish and this time, octopus too. Huge mussels and other goodies. The kitchen doesn't officially open until one thirty but we were still served quite happily. The bar side has to be looking up. They serve a variety of gins! I have never seen or he...
