I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful. The food was delicious and well-prepared. I opted for the lunch buffet so I could try a little bit of everything. They also offer separate vegan options. The atmosphere is stylish and you can even watch the chefs at work through a glass area in the kitchen. The buffet dishes are clearly labeled with descriptions. I enjoyed everything except for the avocado which had some condiments that didn't suit my taste. Overall, I would give this place five stars as I particularly enjoyed the spring chicken dish (not what you might expect, it's a flavor).
I went to Masala for the lunch buffet on Monday, May 2, 2022. The food tasted freshly made and delicious. Some of the items included chicken tikka masala, cabbage, Hawaiian tofu, soup, shrimp, curry chicken, vegetable dishes, spinach saag, salads, garlic naan, and butter tea. There were plenty of sauces and condiments available to enhance the flavors. The service was excellent and friendly, and the bathrooms and dining room were clean. The server mentioned that the credit card machine was not working, so I paid with cash. The total, including taxes and tip, came to $19, which I found to be a great deal for the Somerville area.
The first time I visited Masala, I placed a to-go order. The staff was very helpful, especially two girls who were very nice and assisted me with my order. They explained the menu to me and even gave me a free dessert, which made me feel at home (I am from Turkey and asked about the dessert later). I really loved it. The portions were also big. They recommended the dumplings, which are apparently very popular. I will try them next time. I ordered vegetable chowmein. Thank you, Masala team!
Favorite Indian restaurant bar none. The food, the service, the music, everything is so wonderful, cozy and good. Their buffet is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Boston. My friends and I were literally bouncing with excitement when we arrived at 3 pm on a Saturday and realized we still had until 4 before it closed. Super nice people working there, very attentive and kind. Highly recommend, will go again. 7/5, with rice.

This place has become our go-to Indian restaurant this year, and they also offer dosas and Nepalese options. Masala provides a lovely atmosphere, buffet lunch options, and their staff are kind attentive. The food is excellent. We like the Masala Dosa, Chili Chicken, Chana Masala, and the fabulous fresh bread. Also a nice beer wine selection if you are so inclined.
They understand spice better than most restaurants around Boston. When they say a dish is spicy, it actually offers a decent kick. The lamb vindaloo was decent. The chicken tikka masala was underwhelming. They charge a bit more than what they offer but overall a good experience. Make sure you get a side order of garlic naan.
One of the best Indian buffets on the planet. Seriously. All the veggie dishes are great. Usually there's one or two options that are meh, but not here. They also include chai tea, fresh naan, and a great dessert or two.
This is a hidden gem with a cozy atmosphere, good drinks, delicious food, and a great value. The people are super nice too. We really love coming here!

This is the best Indian restaurant in town! I absolutely love their buffet. The goat curry, chicken masala, and momo are all so delicious.
There are some non vegetarian dishes available too in the Lunch buffet.
