We were tecomMascalzones for great authentic Italian food as opposed to “Aussie Italian”. The recommendation was correct for good food. We enjoyed our pasta and risotto dishes. However……. The service could do with some etiquette training. We ordered an entree and mains with a bottle of wine. The entree was delivered shortly after the wine and within a few minutes the mains arrived whilst we were still eating our entree. We advised the waitress that we would like to enjoy our entree followed by a short interval before mains. She took the mains away and they were returned by another waitress who told us that we should have specified that we wanted the courses delivered separately! We explained...
My first visit to this restaurant was a month ago and I enjoyed the food so much that I decided to come back for more. We started with generous portions of delicious Italian focaccia, followed by lamb ragu pappardelle and seafood linguine. The seafood hot pot was also a hit. We paired our meals with a lovely house red and white wine. For dessert, we indulged in mini donuts, panna cotta, and coffee. The staff are friendly and accommodating, always willing to provide extra parmesan, chilli oil, crushed chillis, or cinnamon for the cappuccino. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I will definitely be returning.
I wish I could chose a 3.5 rating as I would describe the pizza as slightly above average. I got the Peppe and my partner got the Campana, both were enjoyable although not remarkable. Overall I would recommend this restaurant if you’re local and are looking for a quality satisfying Italian meal. The ambience is warm and cozy and gives off a rustic authentic vibe.
If you enjoy straightforward yet flavorful Italian dishes made with attention to detail and expertise, you should definitely try this restaurant. They offer a good variety of choices on their menu and provide excellent service.
