If you are ever in the Elche, Spain area you should be sure to try this local restaurant. They are unique in the fact that they have child care while you dine. We did the full nine yards at this place and found it all delicious. Word of warning be sure when you order the Vegetarian piaya to make sure they don't use a fish base. Other than this we found them welcoming and warm. The family feel was evident and this is truly a local people secret.
This family owned restaurant is not far from our office and we use to take there our clients for lunch. They serve the best firewood cooked rice that you can find. In particular I love the one with anchovies and vegetables. Other side dishes are also very good, as the jamón ibérico, squid,capellanes salad... I strongly recomend it because you will find there one of the best paella in all Alicante region. Enjoy it!
We stopped here for lunch whilst out cycling for the day. Very basic surroundings, but full of character. Very typically Spanish. Not an English word spoken. Brilliant. Full of Spanish folk. We had the menu del dia for the grand total of €18 for the two of us. Drink, huge tuna salad, paella, desert (we couldn't eat anymore, so didn't have) and coffee. Amazing. We will be back
Went to try Elche speciality 'Arrox con costra ' Told we 'd have to wait 45 mins, but not in rush, so OK. An hour later, food was very overcooked rice hard inedible, egg crust like tough leather. We had 2 small beers one glass wine bill was an enormous 40€ as they charged for all the unasked for 'freebies ' 2 bits of toast alioli 2 dates. Will certainly not be going back! Book a table now
Aunque hay que tomar el coche si estàs en Elche esta muy correcto! Lo mejor sin duda es el servicio. La chica que nos atendio encantadora y muy atenta y diligente. En cuanto a la comida pedimos entre otras cosas dos arroces, uno espectacular y el otro por desgràcia no tanto y lo tuve que dejar!! Los calamarcitos una delícia, para mojar pan y no parar ! Recomendable !!
one of the best restaurants in the elche to eat a good wood! we love and the artichokes with foie is one of the dishes that we always order along with the brasa! We asked him with and it was brutal! We decided to taste the fried milk that we had already tried but for me what got me the most was the torrija, it was like caramelized with a butter ball. No words!
One of the best paella in this region. I have good time with my friends,portions can be bigger. Special room for kids and there is always one person who care of them!
