We absolutely love Matsu Sushi Grill. The food is always impressively fresh, the atmosphere is pristine, and the service is exceptional. My 13-year-old daughter is a big fan of the Izumi Roll, which features delicious chicken Tempura. Meanwhile, my 11-year-old enjoys the Chicken Tempura meal, accompanied by a fresh salad and rice. I personally find the Tuna Amazing Roll to be outstanding, packed with freshness and flavor. So many reviews come from a good first experience at a restaurant. I want to shout this place out as an oldie but goodie. I have been getting sushi takeout from Matsu for over 10 years and it remains an excellent spot. Very fresh sushi, that is a step above a lot of the other sushi places in our area. Not the kind of place that buries average fish in a drowned role, just good fresh sushi. The owners are so nice. I only hope they can open the store for dining again soon. Highly recommend it if your looking for a solid sushi spot in the area.
While Matsu is only take out since COVID-19 started, it is still our go-to place for sushi. My wife and I have been to Japan many times and I've enjoyed exceptional sushi. We have found that the quality of matsu's fresh fish hasn't been beaten in the immediate pescott Valley area. Sometimes, they may not have the latest, fanciest rolls, but the roles they offer are outstanding. I would recommend Matsu Sushi and Japanese restaurant to anyone.

This review is specifically for take-out, and it is definitely worth it! We recently ordered a variety of items from the sushi takeout menu and were pleasantly surprised. The portions were generous, and they provided enough wasabi to satisfy even the most seasoned sushi enthusiasts. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and can't wait to try it again soon.
I tried the kimchi beef udon soup, and it was a delightful change! The kimchi added a nice twist to the traditional udon. Eating in might be better than getting takeout, especially since Matsu has reopened for dining in! The sushi remains top-notch as well. I recommend trying everything on the menu!
Best Sushi ever!!!! I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants but this restaurant is by far the best. The fish is so fresh and the sushi is perfectly made. I also like the noodles and salmon soup! The service is also excellent and the atmosphere is very nice. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Good quality sushi at reasonable prices. I ordered takeout and got a bunch of rolls, an unaju, and a chirashi. Everything was pretty good. The rolls were well made and the fish tasted fresh. Their menu is huge so I'm excited to try some other items next time.

Ordered lunch from here and I found a flying bug crawling out of my sushi roll. I just tried calling them about this to ask for a refund because this is disgusting and a health hazard but now they're conveniently not answering the phone. Gross.
Nice local restaurant. We tried several items from the menu. It was all good. Disappointing compared to other local restaurants that nothing was standout or original.
