From the outside, Restaurant Matsumotoya might easily be overlooked, nestled as it is within an old building whose modest facade and small windows blend seamlessly into the surrounding architecture. We might have walked right past it if not for the tip we received! Very authentic Japanese restaurant which is very difficult to find in Europe. The food is super delicious. But the place is small and making a reservation was difficult for us. We were lucky that we came at the right time when there was an empty spot for us. Also the service was fast and the food came fast. If you love Japanese foods and you're missing them, you shouldn't miss this place when you visit Strasbourg.

The beef ramen was surprisingly rich and tasty. Tasted like my mom's beef soup on steroids. The 5 sakes were quite nice but not that different. Overall a good experience we already booked the place for today again. Watch out you probably won't get inside during lunch without a reservation.
