Had 6:30 dinner reservations for last night. Aug 3rd Saturday night. Was seated in the front room in the corner by the window. Extremely hot, especially with front door wide open and felt like no air conditioning on. Bread and oil was delicious, I really really liked this fresh bread. I ordered fettuccine with chicken it was good fiance hated her chicken piccata that was swimming in 2 inches of oil, completely inedible. Main problem I had was when the server dropped off my food he stole my oil and bread. I had my first meal at Maxi's on a quiet Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was relaxed, making it a pleasant dining experience. It’s important to note that Maxi's is an intimate, casual restaurant, so the noise level can rise when the dining area and bar are busy. The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing our experience. The escargots were creatively presented, and the calamari pasta was quite good. My friends also enjoyed their meals.
Stopped by for lunch and had a terrific pizza with my Peroni. Friendly quick service. Now we want to go back for dinner.....did return for a full meal; unfortunately had to send my mussels back because they tasted oddly bitter (only time in my life I've sent back mussels) but my family had two servings of clams linguini that they rated delicious.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday with our four kids before heading to the orchestra. The food was fantastic! Everyone ordered something different, and everyone was pleased. The mussels appetizer was exceptional, and the freshly baked bread was incredible. Thank you for the birthday tiramisu as well! It was an amazing dining experience!

Maxi’s is top notch when it comes to food and service. They never miss the mark and always go above and beyond. We’ve shared many of our family celebrations with the Maxi’s family and they always get it right. Can’t say enough about the people and the food at Maxi’s.
Some of the best Italian food I’ve had z. The calamari was lightly dusted with flour and sautéed then served in a delicious red sauce. Seasoned to perfection! The pizza was vastly excellent. Same for the stuffed hot peppers and the shrimp scampi
The back patio was beautiful and peaceful, providing a nice escape from the typical street noise of Little Italy. Our server was friendly, and while the food was fairly standard, it was well-prepared.
Quaint outdoor patio on a beautiful day. The waiter was perfect! Food had great flavor and was well prepared. Would definitely come back when we're in town again.
