We tried the Mayflower as our local Chinese takeaway closed for 6 weeks during covid19. We were quite excited as hadn’t had our takeaway fix for a few weeks and we were all disappointed. Nothing was nice. I couldn’t eat mine. We shared starters, the spare ribs were so fatty and the sauce was watery, the chicken wings were seemingly ok, the prawn toast was soft saturated in vegetable oil as were the vegetable spring rolls. I had chicken chow mein and it was awful. The thick noodles were slimy. I couldn’t eat the chicken as didn’t like the colour it was and threw mines in the bin as I couldn’t eat it. I decided to treat myself to a takeaway on a Saturday night with a glass of wine, wanting to relax and not have to cook. I phoned Mayflower at Peirshill and they offer a meal deal for one for £7.50, which includes a choice of starters such as chicken and sweetcorn soup, spring rolls, or spare ribs, as well as a main course like a meat curry, sweet and sour chicken, or chicken balls in batter. You can also choose between rice or chips to go with your main. The food was very enjoyable and the delivery service was quick. Overall, the meal was well worth the value.
Got a delivery and it was cold and congealed. Food had strange taste. Phoned to ask for a refund and was shouted at, and spoken over by the woman on the phone. Was called a liar when I told her the delivery time and even though it cost me £30 she said she could only refund £20 as it cost her money to cook the food and she had to pay her driver! What an insult! So I'm paying her electricity bill and her drivers wages even though I've returned all the food. What a joke!
The service at this restaurant is excellent - they take my order quickly and already know my usual dishes. Although I have tried other menu items, I prefer sticking to my two favorites. I always trust that the food will be piping hot and delicious at this local spot. I highly recommend Mayflower for their quick delivery and polite drivers.

I decided to try this takeout restaurant since it is nearby, and I am so glad I did! The food is delicious, portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. I would definitely recommend it.

Lovely lady took my order on the phone.Food arrived fresh hot and within the time she said. Large portions.. great value for money. Definitely my number 1 home delivery.
This is a Chinese takeaway. Very good one at that also. Great prices plus lovely staff. Good fresh food provided for excellent prices plus good portion for price paid.
