What a great find! I travel from Westchester to Long Island every week and discovered Mayra's a few weeks ago. They have a great selection of pastries I've tried several different 9ne so far and none have failed to impress! It's a family run business and I've now been welcomed warmly by a few members of the family. The coffee is very good, too. Plenty of seats, nice ambient music in the background and outdoor seating, as well. It's now my favorite place in the area.
This is so upsetting to hear that Mayras in Lake Grove has officially closed because the landlord who owns the property is an a Every single business that tries to succeed in that location always ends up failing because of the property owner. Well thanks a lot you just ruined one of the few amazing bakeries on this damn island! Now we just sit and wait for a new and better location to open up.
OMG! Have been dying to try it finally did. What a great find. The ice coffee was the best I've had in a long time. Pastries were light airy. Not like your typical bakery where everything is very heavy. My daughter got the apple coffee cake so flavorful. The place is very clean and they have a few outside tables. Definitely will be coming back.
One day I went to this bakery and described a cake I wanted. After taking all the details and talking to their baker, they said $70. A few days later I went to confirm the order and they increased the price to $150. ?Otherwise I liked the taste of their cakes.
