We came here on a Sunday because most everything downtown was closed. We grabbed a high top, and it wasn't crowded. The bartender greeted us and told us about the specials. He was friendly and polite. He mentioned the special was fish and chips, and we both ordered. After an extended delay, the runner brought fish tacos out to the bar. We noticed it. Our bartender brought them back to the kitchen. He then told us the kitchen made a mistake and they would make the fish and chips. He apologized. We understood it wasn't his fault. Our server was extremely unpleasant this Thursday evening. Every interaction was met with nasty behavior and apathy. Me and my party were looking to celebrate a graduation, and we ordered three ordered Margaritas for our table, and when we received drinks that were not margaritas(pink lemonade with tequila)our server was very rude when we asked for other drink (Beers). We canceled our order of food after this, and we were asked to leave in response. Very unprofessional and unacceptable.
McGeary's has been an Albany staple for many long years. It is the go to hangout after work or for a night out on the town. The atmosphere is great and so is the service. I ordered the artichoke dip and black and blue burger with fries. The food is very good. Nothing super fancy on the menu, but they do a great job with what they have. If you are a vegan, they offer beyond burger options for your sandwich. McGearys also has a very good selection of beer and brinks on their menu.
Shane ! Shame on you , For LYING . I wish I could talk to the manager. She totally ruined my night with her nastiness. I came to Albany for my graduation. I never encountered a human being so mean and nasty in my whole life .

I paid 35.00 for chicken parmigiana and a cheese burger well done and when I got home to eat one bite and I saw raw meat.
Very nice pub/restaurant. Food and service were great! Fun to enjoy before a show at The Palace
