Meisterhaus - Table reservation

This restaurant came highly recommended by family members who live nearby, so I was excited to try it. It was a very warm evening so we ate outside in the Biergarten. The setting was nice, and the large umbrellas provided some relief from the sun....The Biergarten is located beside a park, so our small children enjoyed playing while we waited to be served. And wait we did. It took quite a while for a server to initially come to our table even though we had arrived early before things got busy. All of us ordered drinks and then waited, and waited, and WAITED for them to arrive. Another long wait followed before our food orders were taken. Tried a grilled fish dish, which was well cooked and presented nicely. But the service was quite slow took about 20 minutes to take the first drinks order the restaurant was fairly empty at this time. They had a separate English menu, but...it was out of date, and couple of the dishes I would have chosen were not available to order anymore. This restaurant was recommended by the hotel I stayed in Unna, but the experience did not live up to the expected high standard.

It is in a neat old building, and the atmosphere inside is definitely festive (lots of loud talking). Our waitress was visibly disgusted that we did not speak German. Maybe for this reason she was infrequently serving our table. The food was good, though, and...the stroll through Unna in the evening afterwards made it an overall pleasant experience.

we went to dinner twice during a business trip. eating was good and cheap. service was sufficient, nothing above the tip, but nothing to complain.

I ordered the grilled salmon and a glass of white wine. the food was delicious and the fish cooked nicely. service was good.
