I had initially planned to go to San Jose, but the line was out the door, so we decided to try Melicios instead. Unfortunately, my experience there hasn’t been as great since they moved from Shannon, NC. The service was very poor, as there were only two waitstaff for the entire dining area. Many people walked in and left just a few minutes later because they weren’t being attended to at all. Those of us who did wait took about 15-20 minutes to get service. When our food finally arrived, some of it wasn't even warm. After asking for a to-go box and the check, we waited another 15 minutes because the waiter kept forgetting both requests amid the crowd. I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. They seated me quickly. And y?all? when the food came out I had to wait for it cool down bc it was so hot lol! Definitely not a bad thing. I expect my food to be like this when ordered. And ofcourse my camera eats before me so it was perfect for me. The salsa was delicious! I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. Theycame out and sizzling. I will be back. The restaurant was clean and spaced out. My waiter was very attentive. Oh and they havehand sanitizer at every table so it was very convenient and thoughtful of the staff. Go, you won?t regret it. It is sure tobecome a favorite.
When I complained that my order wasn't correct and requested a remake, I ended up waiting for almost an hour while others were served. Finally, I told the woman at the counter I wanted my money back. I placed my order at 1:30 PM, and I didn't receive my refund until 2:57 PM. This is completely unacceptable.
Their prices are too high for the quality of food they serve, which is more fat than meat. I've given this place more chances than I should have because I believe in supporting small businesses and understand that mistakes happen, but this is too much. I will not be returning.
Wow! We just wanted some Mexican food, and we ended up enjoying one of the best Mexican restaurants we've been too. Certainly not what we expected to find in rural NC. Excellent food and the friendliest staff you will encounter. Actually, there must besomething in the water in Pembroke, because most everyone in the town is exceedingly nice!!

The food was quite good and well-seasoned. However, the waitress seemed to have an attitude, possibly because she was having a rough day—I'm not sure. Despite that, I'd definitely consider going back. My wife had two alcoholic drinks, and she enjoyed them. I think the service experience is what held me back from giving a perfect score.
The food was decent! However, the waitress was a bit rude; it could have been a language barrier, but it didn't really feel that way to me. The drink, Mexican candy, was good! Prices were reasonable.
I had the carne asada tacos and the ACP, and they were absolutely fantastic! I really appreciate that they include vegetables in their ACP, as many other places do not. You can thank me later!
The prices for the sides here are outrageous. It costs less to buy a bag of limes, an onion, and a bunch of cilantro than it does to order sides for five tacos. What’s going on with that?
