it was the first Monday of this year that I tried to explore a caffe in james street that I wasn't for one. unfortunately it was closed for the new year period. While I was looking for a place to have my brekkie, the picture of this caffe appeared in my mind so went down the road to explore it again. since my last review here are over eight months. due to the early days before me was the first naughty of the day. Created a small flat white to go with a ham cheese croissant. Eat and drink were almost immediately on the table. even though the croissant was roasted and his airy texture was lost. I have not been selective on them and enjoyed this brekkie instead.Total experience was decent.Ratin...

Today I was at James st and my partner said she wanted a coffee and as we were just in front of this store we decided to go for it. We had two dirty chai and a chocolate cannoli. The cannoli had a nice flavour to it, was probably one of the best I have tried here in Brisbane but the pastry was soggy which I had already imagined when ordering but I went against the odds. It had a nice chocolate flavour was not too sweet and had some bitterness to it. I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5. The dirty chai was creamy and had a nice coffee flavour to it but wasn't spicy enough for me, there are better options around for sure. I would rate it also a 3.5 out of 5. Overall it was average, didn't...read mor...

I felt very hungry after I landed from Darwin back to brisbane. it was early 01:30 clock flight so arrived at airport brisbane at 05:30 clock. After I picked up my car, I have a fast battery. Suddenly my look was caught by this caffe, which started very early with the trade. I approached the counter and set my orders right away. it was amazing that the croissant with ham cheese roasted and ready to the coffee. textur of the croissant was not the kind I liked and filled were not at all generous. the nice coffee with strong aroma has recovered. the Merlo coffee never lets me down. previous rating: 4.5/5 jan 2021; 5/5 June 2020;

You have options when it comes to coffee, Di Bella, Campos and then you have Merlo. This coffee served at their fortitude valley store has a great balance and taste and not too hot also go cap. This is your usually go to place early mornings at 8am, and there is always a crowd. We just order at the window and names get called out when it is ready. You can also buy their signature coffee beans at the other side. Or you can have a sit in, not too many tables. There are just a handful of parks but it is sort of like a drive through. An incredible variety of coffees await you at Merlo in Fortitude Valley. The coffee is fantastic - the Flat Whites were easily the best we had on a big coffee adventure day - and rated a 4.5. The air conditioning is not up to the Brisbane summer and they only had a few baked goods in the tiny display case. Had to dock them slightly for poor air conditioning and lack of nibbles, but this is a definite must-visit if you love coffee.

as a big fan of merlo coffee (because I had been pushing them in university since my days), I was always trying to try her alone in the fortitude valley. Unfortunately, it is neither close to work nor home for me, which meant that it was not easy to get, but an breakfast close to offered the perfect opportunity for us to take a quick coffee before.
