We went here a couple years ago before it changed it and it was wonderful. we were excited to bring some of our friends there so we made a reservation for yesterday, cinco de mayo. my sister and brother-in-law recently had a baby and they got a baby sitter to come out for the evening for one of their first nights out and drive the 30+ minutes to come meet us. we arrive early for our 730 reservation and the restaurant was absolutely packed, of course cause it's cinco, so glad i made a reservation, right?! we get rudely approached by a man who asked me what i was doing. i let him know we had a reservation and he cut me off and said, nope you don't. i said excuse me? he said, there's no reserva...
I've ordered from Mezcal more than any other restaurant since moving to NJ. While I can't comment on dining in, the pickup experience seems nice! The food is consistently good. The ceviche is a bit pricey, but you get a generous portion and it's always fresh. The prices are on the higher side for what you receive, but the portion sizes are substantial. Just keep in mind that it doesn't make for the best leftovers if you don't finish it all in one sitting. It's best to order with friends!
The first few times we ordered from here the food was decent. We placed an order today and the way the food was delivered was unacceptable. The boxes were open and the food had been damaged by the boxes stacked on top. The food was poorly cooked and looked like everything was just thrown on top. The beans were beyond watery. Overall horrible experience and unfortunately will not be ordering from here again.
This restaurant serves one of the best ceviches I've ever tasted! The margaritas are a perfect complement as well. The guacamole is an absolute must-try, and the birria tacos along with the Mexican quesadillas are fantastic. It's my go-to spot for lunch! I definitely need to return for happy hour. Food: 5/5.

I LOVE mezcal kitchen. Period. The food is amazing (fish taco is a fav of mine), Julie makes incredible the Palomas (pro tip- add a tajin rim), and the music is a vibe. Not to mention the space is beautiful, it’s such a gem in JSQParking: Street parking
Would like to go back and how it gets when busy great looking bar restaurants a big selection of Mezcal and tequila I had a few appetizers and I was pleasantly surprised service was ok but lacked of interest of selling their product
I'm usually a fan of this place but I was not pleased with how much grease was in my chicken fajita.Below is how much grease I poured from my dish. That cannot happen again or shouldn't to anyone.
