You come here for the bagels, not the service. We decided to try it one day when we passed by and noticed it was emptier than usual. We didn't see anyone use credit card so guess it might be a cash only spot. We tried an onion bagel with scallion cream cheese and ate it right away. It has a great crunchy exterior with a gently toasted interior and thick slab of cream cheese. Firm, not runny cream cheese. Plenty of scallion. Good chunk and great flavor. It was really enjoyable. We came twice one time where staff wasn't chatty (older gentleman) and another time when the staff (different employees) were great. It's all good because the bagels will speak for themselves. Almost $11 for two bagels...
I rarely write reviews, as a local I felt compelled to do so for our community hardworking folks stopping by for breakfast. This place has awful bagels! Worst in our area. I’m a very patient understanding person gave them so many chances. However, all of my experiences were the same…underwhelming in flavor, extremely overpriced, and rude service! Additionally, I’ve been charged taxes more than what’s required by New York State every time I go there!! Very shady! I was surprised to see such poor ratings here I'm not a regular but after today i would be! I phoned in my order when i was enroute w/2 hangry young kids. I couldn't get out of car with them so they brought out to my car let me pay that way. I was surprised/ put off that they didn't accept cc definitely hurts them from more business including myself cause i never carry cash but i was happy the svc i got. I called several bagel places on Austin before going there they either didn't pick up the phone, said they don't take phone/ pickup orders (huh?! or weren't patient enough to walk me thru what flavor bagels they had for my picky eaters. That alone sold me.

My absolute favorite bagels in the city! I've been visiting this place for years, and even though I'm not around as often lately, I always make sure to grab a bunch to take with me. In my experience, the prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. I really don't get the negative reviews; it must be some kind of smear campaign!
I've tried nearly all the bagels in the area, and this place stands out as the best. Whether I visit in the morning or the afternoon, the bagels are always fresh. I truly believe this is the top spot around. Each time I've been there, I've been served by the owner, who is incredibly efficient in his work.
1 orange juice, 1 toasted bagel with lox fish only and one toasted bagel with cream cheese cost me $17.00. No tomatoes, lettuce or onions. Just the fish! Absolute rip off. Either they messed up the price or they are really taking advantage of inflation. Save your money go elsewhere.
I live on Long Island, but visit my son and his wife in FHs fairly frequently. This am I had to get my wife her veggie cream cheese bagel. The best! And the beautiful Lana is always pleasant and helpful. Best bagels in NYC and LI.
