Mickey's Hot Dogs - Table reservation

My mom used to take me here as a kid. It was nearby and cheap. I didn’t go for a very long time. But when I decided to back to college this place popped back up on my radar as it was on my drive home. And let me tell you, I’m never going back. They only accept cash. Which most people do not have anymore. I understand the reasoning being that credit card readers have fees. And cash only lowers the price. They have an ATM but when you need to use the ATM you’re paying a $3 fee anyway to get cash. But that’s not the worst part. The worst part is how disgusting it is. The place is sticky, old, and greasy. No one uses gloves, and despite what the owner claims in his responses to customers on here...

Ugh. Disappointment. For the first time in awhile, had a hankerin' for a hotdog n fries. Decided to try a new spot so ended up at Mikey's as hotdog n fries is on their sign. The dog, which the sign says is Vienna Beef, was a pinkish shade of off-white I've not seen a Vienna have in past. No sport peppers, tomato or celery salt! I've not had a hotdog in a long while where these were not standard. Pickle and amount of onions good, but not much flavor overall. Fries hot, but again, lacked any seasoning. All in all, not the hotdog experience I'd hoped for.

Asked for a Vienna hotdog with everything. I assumed being close to Chicago I didn’t have to specify “Chicago dog”. I only got onion relish pickle mustard. Pretty disappointed but it still tasted good.

I work in an independent repair shop 14yrs in business we agree Mickey's is a staple in the neighborhood. ? Never disappointed.
