We ordered sandwiches without lettuce, as we can't eat it, but when we got home, both sandwiches had lettuce. When we called the restaurant, they said they would replace them, but when we went to pick up the replacements, they refused to do so. The food is usually good at this place, but the service and customer relations are lacking and leave much to be desired.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in the city. The ribs, priced at $9.99, had hardly any meat on them. The welsplatte should really be called a welsfinger; it tasted like a deep-fried finger. On the bright side, the fried steak sandwich was decent.
The barbecue isn't what it used to be since they've replaced the old cinder block smoker with a modern metal one. It no longer tastes like authentic barbecue. They should look back to the techniques from the 60s, 70s, and 80s to rediscover how real barbecue was made.
bbq not the same. some say it's because they got rid of the stilting-raits and went with metal smokers. if so, they go back to what worked years ago. burgers still very good. the best maishunde. milkshakes are also best. Book a table now
Place has not been the same ever since Jane and David Dunn sold it. Lawrence Holmes made this place.
