My first impression of Salt Stone occurred even before we sat down to eat; it was during the reservation process. The night before our reservation I found out I needed to add one more person. The person who took the call say they were packed that night and it would be tough to do and did so but with the proviso we would have to be out within 90 minutes. I was fine with that given we had tickets in Boston that night and understood since it was a last minute change. Within 30 minutes of getting off the call, that same person called saying she was able to move a bunch of stuff around and that she made room for our party and wouldn't have to leave after 90 minutes. There are many restaurants in the Assembly Square area. This time I decided to try one that I had not tried. Salt and Stone is a very nice place, with a creative and interesting menu. The prices are a tad high but its worth checking out.
The lobster ravioli and the apple crumble were the highlight of the dinner! A little noisy, but service was great, and the wine, cocktail, and beer selections were perfect.
Our server was fantastic, early lunch worked out so we could hear ourselves speaking. Recommend for meeting friends and dinner before an event like theater or movie night.
