When we lived in Levitown, I remember a new restaurant opening up called Miller's Ale House. I didn't realize there was another location in the Lake Grove area, so when our friend suggested going, I was excited to try it out. Miller's Ale House is known for their Zingers, which are like boneless wings but longer and slightly smaller than chicken fingers. They come in a variety of sauces, and we tried them as an appetizer. Never had a bad experience at Millers until today. There was a game on, but it wasn 't overly crowded. Either way, there is no excuse for poor service. To start, my boyfriend and I ordered zingers. They took a very long time to come out and when they did they weren 't that hot at all. For our entrees, I ordered the shrimp and chicken Cobb salad and my boyfriend I ordered chicken Caesar salad. Our salads took over an hour to come out. At one point our waitress said they would be right out. 20 minutes went by and still no salad. Then she came by to drop off the salad dressing stating the salads are right behind me. This was not the case. We continued to wait...and wait. For very simple things...
Terrible service and ceiling leaking near table. We were seated at the table in front of the kitchen. The table next to us had a ceiling leaking onto it with buckets catching it. We felt some splash from it. I ordered a prickly pear margarita. It was served in a plastic shaker. When I went to pour it, the top fell off and it spilled all over the table. The server said I poured it incorrectly when she never gave me instructions to begin with. The server never cleaned up our table. We complained to Alex, the manager. Miller's in Lake Grove has a good large space with two big bars. Probably best for watching sports events and getting some beers and such. The food here was a mixed bag Our group's order included got a 10z sirloin which was ok but came with overcooked veggies and a mediocre baked potato option. The appetizers included cheese fries w/ bacon which were very good and calamari which was less appetizing (few places seem to make it good). Other entrees like a cheese burger, caeser salad w/ french onion soup and philly cheese steak ranged from good to ok. We were also initially served without utensils, napkins or ketchup. Not bad overall but some food options and service could at times be better.

Ambiance is what we wanted, tvs loud and fun. Staff was supper nice and on point! Sadly the food was a huge disappointment. We went for the advertised mozzarella stick mountain appetizer. It was awful. Cold, no cheese, and took forever. We didn't complain but when the bill came and it was $24.99 I was in shock! I had the Miami bowl which was not like the picture. And the kids had zingers. Good not great. Again, waited was great, it was busy so it took a while but he communicated the whole time so not a problem. The prices other than our app are great. Luckily, We had a bottle of wine that definitely hit the spot!
Honey, I shrunk the wings! We still ate them, and the sauces were good, but, wtf? Size of my thumb, slightly incinerated and stringy. Who made THAT call? It should be a flagship plate at a sports bar, why am I even saying it? Served in an otherwise empty plate, would have looked more appetizing in a bodega. Really kind of surprised. Ambiance? It's Millers. The beer was...the beer. The sports tv's all worked.The server looked as disinterested as if they didn't get to keep the tips. If you like wings, hard pass pass on Millers and go to Shanahans. Same price, 3x the size and spot on, every time.
I have visited this restaurant many times before, but I was extremely disappointed today. The children's meal was very disappointing. My son chose the apples over fries, and I have never seen such a poor side dish. Although my meal was tasty, the shrimp was inedible and the vegetables were watery and lacked flavor. Our server was very nice, but unfortunately, the food was not up to par.
This is still a great spot to enjoy music, but I was disappointed when I was told I had to leave because I wanted to watch a soccer game. It seems like they only cater to a certain crowd and are not willing to compromise. I won't be returning to this place again. They really missed the mark on this one.

Everything we had this night was extremely salty including the chipotle mayo (came with the burger), the French Onion Soup, and the mashed potatoes. The vibes were ok, and the happy hour deal after 10 pm seemed good. My friend got the Tuesday Sirloin deal for $10 I believe which is very good.
Zingers were great but I'm told the quality has worsened. I thought the sauce was delicious and they were nice and crispy. The fries on the other hand sucked, waste of money.
