I went out for a date night and I'm so glad I did! Although the food took a while to arrive, this gave my partner and me the chance to savor each dish without feeling rushed. We started with the market oysters, and the addition of salmon roe brought a fresh and exciting twist to these classic oysters. The fried oysters were equally delicious. The Tebasaki Nagoya Miso was packed with flavor, and the chicken had the perfect crispiness. The short ribs were incredibly tender, seasoned just right. We ended our meal with a matcha cheesecake, which was a light and delightful finish. I would have loved the matcha flavor to be a bit stronger, but it was still fantastic. We opted not to bring our own...

Came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and we were very impressed. Making a reservation was simple and we were greeted warmly by the staff. It’s a BYOB restaurant and there’s a liquor store a few blocks away. They told us there were a few unavailable items on the menu so I’m guessing their ingredients are very fresh. We got the raw octopus, wagyu beef appetizer, and the steamed egg with crabmeat and Ikura to start. We got the Japanese inspired NY steak and the salmon don. When the appetizers came out we were a little taken aback by the small portion sizes but they were 100% worth it! The quality of the food is amazing. Everything we had was delicious! We were pleased by the restauran...

I like the place, it's different from the other types of places in our area both in cuisine, atmosphere and type of restaurant.Pros:1. Great concept and talented chef he does a good job combining flavors and textures in his dishes. Can also get creative if you ask for something and it's not too busy 2. Smaller, more intimate place. It feels more upscale than other restaurants in that part of Cliffside Park3. Generally pleasant service 4. There may be dished available that are good and not on the menu (like a yummy clam soup)Cons:1. Not always easy to get reservations. Need to plan ahead. 2. Gets busy and loud when the restaurant is full 3. Smaller portions and higher price tag can spend a lo...

Let’s just say everything was spectacular. From the warm service to all the details chef places into the dishes, truly a great experience. Our server recommended to start with their oysters, which were prepared in 2 different styles. Raw and grilled. Both were very tasty. Then we had to try the A5 Wagyu!! Let’s just say… WOW. Melt in your mouth deliciousness. A fun table side presentation cooking your own on the hot stone. There were a lot more dishes, honestly too many to write about. Be prepared to open up your wallets though because quality is not cheap. We look forward to our next visit to try more of their selections. Book a table now

Been coming here for about 2 years. This place is a complete gem! If you want to experience Japanese food other than sushi, Chef Alex does an incredible job. The plates are small like tapas where you're meant to order numerous dishes to share. Their menu changes and it's byob. The quality of the food reminds me of a NYC restaurant but in a more relaxed, very casually spot in NJ.

Servers are super friendly and the live music is great. The Hokkaido Scallop Crudo is a must and was the best thing i've had in a while. Bit on the pricier side but definitely worth it, everything was amazing. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $30–50

Minka is one of the top restaurants in North Jersey. The owner and chef, Alex, always provides us with excellent service. Their menu is incredibly unique and frequently features new items. I would rate it a perfect 10 out of 10!
