MIO by Amore Vinoteca and Italian Kitchen

This was our first time back to Mio since COVID. The outward appearance surprised us as we walked toward the restaurant. The outdoor speaker was hanging by its wire, and there were kids' toys and trash all over the outdoor eating area. Inside, the restaurant was clean and inviting. The servers were attentive and cheerful. We started our meal with the calamari appetizer. The calamari had great texture but smelled quite fishy. This restaurant was ok. The experience might have been tainted by the fact that the A/C wasn't working properly on a 103° day. There was a large fan going, but that wasn't enough. Some dishes were really good, others not so much. Not exactly what we had envisioned.

No one had the same escape, but all were watery and without taste. we were in this restaurant in the past when it was a sister restaurant to amore on the coit road. it obviously changed the hands. we will never return, and I am embarrassed to have recommended it.

This was our first visit. We were pleased with all aspects of our dinner. The food was quite good and the staff, though limited, was very friendly and efficient. This is a nice, affordable neighborhood restaurant.
