I met up with a couple of friends for lunch yesterday at this restaurant. They were already there when I arrived, so our table was ready and menus and water were waiting for us. We were served red wine, soft drinks, and sparkling wine while we decided on our meals. One of my friends opted for the all day breakfast, which was smashed avocado on sourdough with feta and poached egg. I chose the toasted vegetable and feta sandwich with tomato relish. Shakshuka baked eggs are a North African breakfast dish featuring eggs baked in tomato sauce, served with feta, sumac, herbs, and toasted sourdough. Mr Zen is a modern café with a great atmosphere. The presentation of the dishes is unique, the service is excellent, and the food is delicious. We tried the North African eggs and they were incredible! The dish lived up to its impressive reputation. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the toast was crunchy, the mushrooms were succulent, and the feta added a special touch. The food at this restaurant is simply fantastic. I had a wonderful brunch experience here and I think I may start coming here instead of my usual spot. The service was quick and the coffee was excellent. I ordered the corn fritters which were not only delicious but also came in a generous portion size. They also have a $15 lunch deal which includes a coffee, a great price considering most brunch places in the area charge at least $30. I highly recommend this place for a tasty and affordable meal.
Formerly the Hotel Saville, Mister Zen occupies a modern space on the ground floor of an unusual octagonal building. The complex received notoriety back in 2015 when a total renovation was undertaken by TV’s, The Block contestants. The menu runs similar to most ‘trendy’ cafés out there, however, I did manage to find something a little different which was pleasing! Welcoming, friendly service, the bao was great and their coffee by Five Senses a bonus!

Even so it had a great amount of froth and the flavour was perfect.<br/ <br/ I’m definitely going back for another coffee soon.<br/ And they have some good daily food specials too.
Purely went to this place for its significance of being part of The Block, and was pleasantly surprised at the exception service and great tasting dishes. I had the waffles, and the mascarpone was as good as any mascarpone I've ever had. I would definitely go back, not just for The Block experience, but more for a great overall experience.

The service was very friendly and the wait time was reasonable, the food was good, with good prices for the large servings. We would definitely come back and recommend this cafe.
