Miyabi 9 is the best sushi joint I’ve been to in Iowa. I have dined here twice, and both times I found the service to be excellent and the food was delicious. My favorites so far include the: unagi nigiri, soba noodle bowl, amaebi nigiri, ika nigiri I had some strict dietary restrictions due to a medical condition (this was a year ago) and I still appreciate how accommodating and kind our waitress was. Customers who don’t like noise may be a bit turned off by the atmosphere, but I thought the music was fun and didn’t mind it since the food was so good.
Sushi was amazing, service was even better. We shared 5 of their special roles between 3 of us and a small appetizer. No one wanted dessert, but we could not say no to tempura roasted cheesecake. This is all my time to visit Top 5 Sushi places and it is smack dab in the middle of the Middle West. Don't sleep here.
We've been here since it's open, it's still my favorite in Des Moines. Recent changes have not affected food quality or friendly staff. I could probably do without adding television, but that would be my only criticism. Great place.
There are two, maybe three, really great sushi places in the DSM Metro area, and Miyabi 9 is among them. Fresh ingredients, wonderful taste and enormous detail associated with the presentation. Great place to go! Little, but great!
