This restaurant is no longer in operation. I visited last night (June 2, 2022) hoping to find MJ's, only to discover that the name on the building has changed to GAIA. Once inside, I learned that the restaurant had recently changed ownership the previous week. They had some pizza available, but were in the process of preparing to launch a full menu along with a lovely dining room, which is expected to be ready in a couple of weeks. It seems like a promising place to try out once it opens, before it gets too popular and crowded. I'm not sure how Yelp can update their listings to reflect this change in ownership.
I’m giving this place one star, not because the food is bad—it’s actually decent. However, a few weeks ago, I ordered two gluten-free pizzas for two people with celiac disease through DoorDash from MJ's Monmouth Beach. What we received were regular pizzas that, while they looked great, were not gluten-free. I tried to resolve the issue and mentioned that I waited over an hour for the wrong pizzas, which forced me to order from elsewhere. Unfortunately, no one ever followed up with me or addressed the problem. Overall, it was disappointing and a waste of $40, including DoorDash fees for delivery.

Business hours say 9PM on a Thursday so I figured walking in at 8:25 wouldn’t be a problem.Lights off, doors locked, not a soul in sight Hey MJ’s, your food is actually decent. Try staying open so during normal business hours so people can actually order it.
The experience here can be very hit or miss. Some staff members are incredibly polite and accommodating, while others seem to view you as a nuisance. There are several other pizza places within a five-mile radius that consistently offer good service and food, making it hard to justify returning to this one.

The food is excellent, and the service is quick and friendly. The subs are fantastic, and the chicken salad is absolutely delicious. You can dine in or order takeout. I highly recommend this place!
