Visiting from Vegas for a couple of days and was looking for something quick for dinner and came to Mo'Bettahs as it was close to my hotel and as I lived on Maui for 14 years, I'm always on the lookout for some ono Hawaiian food. Got the Teri mix plate which had teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef, 2 scoops of rice and a scoop of mac salad. The chicken was moist and very good and the mac salad was pretty much the best I've had from a Hawaiian restaurant. The steak was a little on the dry side but the seasoning was on point. Service was quick and friendly.
Mo' Bettahs could have been even better if: a. We hadn't waited 45 minutes to place our order with only six people ahead of us. b. There had been more efficiency from the seven kitchen staff members, who appeared overwhelmed and confused. It felt like they had specific jobs but couldn't shift to assist those who were struggling. c. The food would have been better if it was served warm, and even more improved if it had been HOT. d. The portion sizes had been more reflective of the high prices charged.
Finally, we’ve found a restaurant that hasn’t hiked its prices recently. We ordered standard dishes with meat, along with a delicious macaroni salad, and we chose either brown or white rice. I received six generous pieces of teriyaki chicken, while my husband got a half box of Kalua pork, topped with plenty of extra sauce. Each meal cost just $13.99. The restaurant has a wonderfully clean and inviting atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious and definitely worth it. I ordered takeout for lunch, and the price was between $10 and $20 per person. I would rate the food a perfect 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5 as well. I highly recommend trying the Teriyaki Chicken and the Kalua Pig with the regular two-meat combo!
I tried this restaurant for the first time and the food was absolutely fantastic! We placed an online order for pickup, but it wasn't ready when we arrived (which was no issue).
