At Mon Ami St-Laurent, diners are limited to just two hours, but unfortunately, it took an excessive amount of time for our food to arrive, and we often received dishes we hadn’t ordered. The meat was served first, while the vegetables were forgotten and only brought out much later.
The complimentary soft drink and lettuce weren’t listed on the menu, which definitely needs updating. Service was slow overall; although not all staff were ineffective, the Indian waitress was impressively quick and helpful whenever we needed assistance—she seemed to be the only one with energy. There also appeared to be a major bottleneck in the kitchen.

I ordered the ????, but there was only one piece of ?? in the soup. Is this the norm? The chicken should have been cut before frying, but it wasn't. I've lived in Korea for seven years and have never experienced Korean food like this before. I typically go to the Mon Ami location downtown in Montreal, and I’ve never had any problems there. I decided to try this place today (July 25, 2022, at 6 PM) while in the Saint Laurent area, but I won’t be returning.
Korean BBQ on a chilly day! We were nearby and decided to try Mon Ami. The restaurant wasn’t very busy when we arrived, and the service was excellent. While the buffet menu has been slightly reduced, all the popular dishes are still offered. I did find the marinade a bit sweeter than usual this time. Overall, we had a great meal, and it’s worth noting that fountain soft drinks are included with the buffet.
The buffet has changed significantly since my last visit; the taste has noticeably declined. The tableware appears worn and used, and both the tables and floor were rather greasy. The selection at the buffet was limited, and while take-out might be a better option, I didn't try it. I spent 5 minutes eating and 20 minutes waiting for new bakeware.
