Monaghan's has been one of my favorite restaurants since it first opened. Even after moving away in 2012, I made it a point to visit twice a year whenever I was up north. Yesterday, I was excited to enjoy their famous French onion soup, but I was extremely disappointed. It tasted so bland that I even asked the waitress what had happened. My son ordered the Irish stew, and I had the wings, but both dishes fell short of expectations. Unfortunately, I think last night was the last time I'll be dining at Monaghan's. It used to be a wonderful experience, but it seems that chapter has come to an end.

I found the food at this restaurant to be average. I wasn't a fan of the potato pancake; it was too deep-fried for my taste. The cash prices are reasonable, and the service is quite good. However, I probably won't return, as I wasn't particularly impressed with the food.
This is a great place to enjoy drinks and reconnect with friends. The food is tasty, too! It was wonderful to see Niles after more than 25 years; it brought back memories and felt just like old times in Astoria.

I think the food here is okay. Don’t like my potato pancake so deeply fried. The cash price is decent. Service is good. Won’t come back just bc I am not impressed by the food.
The staff at Monaghan's is excellent, but the food was fairly average. The burger was overcooked, and the bun had a strange flavor. Additionally, the prices are somewhat high.
The service at this restaurant is always outstanding. They serve a delicious Shepherd's Pie, and the pub food, in general, is of very high quality.
A great traditional Irish bar with incredibly friendly staff. The hands-on owners are fantastic and truly make you feel at home.
