We were informed ahead of time that the half chicken would take 40 minutes, but it was absolutely worth the wait! The potato gratin was incredible, and my husband's steak was perfectly cooked—far more than he could finish. You won't find anything this good anywhere between here and the Canadian border. After a few days of typical road food, this meal was simply fantastic! I'm a decent cook and not one to be easily impressed, but this definitely wowed me. Our waitress was a bit overwhelmed during the busy evening shift, but she still provided excellent service!
I just wanted to THANK YOU for an Ah-Mazing steak dinner!!!I traveled there Saturday from Missoula to meet an old friend from Great Falls, It was the first time eating there for the both of us and we had such a memorable time! One of the best steaks we have both had and the service was the BEST!!!THANK YOU again SOOO much for providing such wonderful food and service. We will both be telling our friends to go there!!!
Great laid back place to enjoy an exceptional meal. This is where professional cooking meets Montanan atmosphere. The food is well prepared food so don't expect to be in and out in 15 minutes. Sit back, put the phone away, and visit with one another... allow yourself to relax a bit ; The owners genuinely want you to enjoy not just the meal, but the whole experience of connecting with eachother. 10 out of 10!
In a surprising turn of events, my husband, who I haven't seen eat asparagus in 25 years, actually enjoyed it! This both shocked and disappointed me. I thought I was getting some asparagus with my dinner when I spotted it on his plate, as he never touches them. I was left speechless! So yes, the asparagus is good too, by the way.

The chicken fried steak was fantastic and the most tender I've ever had. You could cut it with a fork, and the price was very reasonable. The smoked Gouda au gratin potatoes were incredible. My wife ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection—full of great flavor. Overall, it was an excellent steak.
It’s our 34th wedding anniversary, and we celebrated at The Montanan tonight. Service was excellent, food was excellent and the company wasn’t bad. Just kidding honey! ? Will definitely be back again. Thank you Montanan for making our bellies full and our night special!
What a difference a year makes. Last year for the flea market we had lunch here. Food was pretty good and service was good. This year we got seated and never saw a soul after that. We waited for 15 minutes and not even a glass of water. We left. What a disappointment.
We went to this location for the first time to get a steak for my Wife. Apparently steak is not served during lunch. That was all my Wife wanted. We were both disappointed. The mushrooms were great though.

Excellent food and nice atmosphere. Service was slow due to lack of staff but our server was just outstanding under some tough conditions.
By far the best restaurant in town. The staff were on the ball with all services and the food was grade A.
