I need to specify that whilst our...experience was poor this was due to the food- not the staff. The staff were friendly and attentive and it was clear they had worked at the restaurant for a long time and it was close to their heart. The only reason we gave two stars was to factor in the pleasant staff. This place is amazing! Disregard any bad review that people have said, the service is amazing and the food is just equally as good! Food portions are massive and the price is very good relative to the size. We got the jalapeño poppers to start...and shared the nachos grande and full rack of pork ribs. There was so much food we had to get take away! We came on Easter Sunday and wasn’t too busy, not sure because of Easter, but next time you’re in town, definitely come to Montezuma’s. It is a little hidden gem! It is so good I am writing this review whilst I am still sipping away on my sangria which is also amazing!
Be aware this restaurant is no longer in the Old Burleigh Arcade. In an Alley way between James St. and Park Ave. near Woolworths. We’ve been regular at this restaurant literally for years, always been consistent especially with the Montezumas Delight, which is my standard...order every visit. Unfortunately this time my husband and I left disappointed, the dish just wasn’t up to usual standard, l used to love the rice underneath the vegetarian dish, to be baked crispy and the sauce to be spicy, not this time sadly! Please take note and just do a review of this particular dish, perhaps this was a once of?
I had my birthday dinner here today and it was amazing as always! the new location is great! a little smaller but fresh, new and very montezuma vibes. the girl who served was a little fireworks! super friendly and helpful and super fast! also. were served by her in the takeaway and always a great service. the food came fast, hot and massive! could not eat our birthday cake, we were all so full. we have come for many years and will continue to do so. thanks for the fact that montezumas always makes my birthday amazing.

The food is consistently good, but the Sangria was too sweet for my taste. The new location is very cramped and uncomfortable. It might be okay for winter, but I don't think we'll be returning in the summer when it will be too hot.
We always enjoy the fantastic Mexican food at this restaurant, it never fails to leave us in a food coma. We highly recommend their margarita jugs and sangria. It's always a good time whenever we visit!
Great new location in the alley way between James street and park avenue. Same friendly staff . They have kept the Montys feel . Food great sangria and margies yum Great job guys .
Was ver disappointed with the takeaway meal. The nacho dish was half full of chewy rice and the nachos were bland and tasteless. I have tasted better Mexican meals elsewhere.

Best Mexican! I have been going to this restaurant since I was little and has never changed. Been to other montezuma’s and none taste as good as this one at burleigh.
I'm glad to go to my dinner here. location change, but still in a great place! the meal was totally what I expected to be! very delicious and the drinks were great!
