Hubby and I both love Japanese food, so were very happy to visit Motto Motto at Garden City. We rarely venture over that side of town, so it was a chance to check it out. The charming Brittany (Marketing Assistant) greeted us, and explained the menu. She told us that Motto Motto is owned by the same people as Sono at Portside, the upmarket Japanese restaurant. She said they have the same suppliers and same high standards of produce and cooking. She recommended the ramen to hubby, telling us the broth is cooked for twelve hours so is full of flavour. I usually order the Wagyu beef roll whenever I eat at Motto Motto and it was amazing when it first opened up at Garden City My Gravatt. However its been almost a year since ive last been and on my last visit just on the weekend gone by, I've noticed that the recipe seems to have changed and the bun they used is different. And so much smaller. It still taste good but not as amazing as when they first opened up and I think it's a bit cheeky to decrease the size of the bun and still charge almost $15 for it. We are fond of Japanese food but had not tried Motto Motto. We tend not to visit big shopping centres, and that might be why. Having now tried it, we will visit again. Pretty good considering it is within a food court, but then again, the big shops are changing a lot. The food is good quality, and not fast food. My Red ramen was excellent. And we got to try the marbled vanilla and grean tea icecream, and wow. Next time you are at a big shopping place, drop in to Motto Motto.
Fries were great, came out fresh with a seaweed seasoning. Chirashidon bowl came with plenty of seafood however it was seasoned with a slightly sweet soy and tasted more like a poke bowl rather than a traditional chirashidon bowl which shouldn’t have seasoned seafood. Rice was also a tad dry. Flavours overall were decent though, but just don’t expect a chirashidon when ordering.

The service was quick. We booked ahead as there were eight of us. We were glad we did as it was busy. The Teri Teri chicken was good. I enjoyed the added ginger. The pork gyoza tasted like it had been fried with something seafood. The kronur were new to me but I quite enjoyed them. Others enjoyed the pork belly rolls. Not a lot of ambience.
They have a really good Tonkotsu ramen, I got the black garlic one and was not disappointed, serve of noodles was good. Unfortunately no boiled eggs. I used to drive 20 mins away for a good tonkotsu but I guess I don’t need to anymore, unless I would like a boiled egg. Can’t wait to try the rest of ramen options and write more reviews!
Really good service. There is a young gentleman there who has the best personality. Always polite and has a positive attitude. Makes eating there more enjoyable. The food is always consistent and super tasty. Highly recommend this Motto Motto venue.
The service is very efficient and quick. The food was just beautifully presented and extremely tasty. Such a pleasant surprise to have a great meal within minutes....

Visted motto motto 3 times. All 3 times we ordered fries, but every single time it was forgotten. Very bad service.
